CLIMAX — Mr. James S. Copeland, Sr., 74, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Health.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2012 at Forbis & Dick Pleasant Garden Chapel.
Mr. Copeland was born in Fries, Virginia on January 2, 1938 to the late Marshall and Willie Taylor Copeland. He was a veteran of the United States Army and owner of IMC Inc. James was a Mason, loved animals and was an avid NASCAR and sports fan, collector of guns, knives and watches. He enjoyed life, being around people and was always willing to help others.
He is survived by his wife, Ingrid Heckl Copeland; daughter, Elizabeth "Liz" Copeland and husband Joey Mooney; son, Jay Copeland and wife Whitney Lee; brother, Daniel M. Copeland; grandchildren, Jake Copeland, Jenna Lee Copeland, John Mooney, A.J. Mooney; and great-granddaughter, Audrey Ryan Mooney.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., prior to the service on Friday.
