
GREENSBORO Lila June Chandler, 93, died May 18, 2012 at Friends Home Guilford. The family will receive friends Monday, May 21, 2012, from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Forbis and Dick Guilford Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Lila was born March 28, 1919. She was the daughter of Albert Dixon and Eula Vanstory Chandler. She was the last of eleven children. She graduated from Greensboro Senior High School and East Carolina Teachers College (ECU). Lila worked in Washington, DC for five years and for Burlington Industries in Greensboro for thirty-seven years.
Lila is survived by two nephews; Lawrence L. French and Raymond F. Chandler, Jr. She was recently predeceased by her nephew Thomas C. French. She is also survived by five nieces; Sylvia Murphy, Carolyn Hiatt, Hallie Andrews, Kay Chandler Fincannon and Cathy Ferguson and numerous other great nieces and nephews.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro and the Bethany Circle.
