GREENSBORO — Eugene Wright, Jr. 84, of Greensboro died Monday, March 11, 2013 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday at George Brothers Funeral Service with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Born in Franklin County, Eugene attended Wake Crossroads Baptist Church of Wake County in his youth. He started work at Burlington Mills Textiles but joined Thurston Motor Lines after about ten years. He stayed with Thurston Motor Lines, later known as Browns Transport until 1989. After retirement, Eugene went to drive for Mail Contractors of America for his fishing money.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Margaret Wright of the home; sons, Thomas E. Wright of Archdale, Ronnie L. Wright (Bunny), Greg N. Wright (Rhonda Evans), and Steve E. Wright all of Greensboro; brothers, Vernon Wright of Wendell and Charles Wright of Raleigh; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and his beloved K-9 companion, Buddy.
The family will receive friends from 11:45-12:45 Thursday prior to the service.
