
GREENSBORO David Michael Gibbs, 59, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013. He was born June 30, 1953 to Donald & Irma (Mesch) Gibbs in Dubuque, Iowa. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a Third Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He was a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. He was an instructor of motorcycle safety.
He is survived by his mother, Irma Gibbs; sister Susan (Paul) Williams of Anaheim, CA; Chuck Gibbs of Davenport, IA, Mark Gibbs of Topeka, KS, Paul (Sonja) Gibbs of Marion, IA, John (Karen) Gibbs of Spragueville, IA, and Patrick Gibbs of Marion, IA; and also, many nieces, nephews, cousins and many other dear friends and neighbors whose lives he touched and who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Gibbs and maternal and paternal grandparents.
David's love of helping others will be his legacy. He also had a deep love of gardening, and working his many hobbies, especially motorcycles.
Services will be held on Monday, February 18, at 11 a.m. at Good Shepard Catholic Church in King, NC. A luncheon reception will be held immediately following the service at the church reception hall. A second service will follow at a later date in Iowa.
