GREENSBORO — Juanita H. "Gladys" Wood, 97, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Greensboro Retirement Center. Gladys was born on September 18, 1915 in Waynesboro, VA, the daughter of Harry and Jetta Thacker Hartman. She was a loving wife and mother who devoted her life to her family. Gladys loved crossword puzzles and learned to love fishing. She was a member for years at the Union Grove Baptist Church in Kernersville. She will be truly missed by her family.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Harvey W. Woods Sr. and her son, Dennis Wood. Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Eileen Feurtado of Tampa, FL, Harvey Wood and wife Mae of Greensboro, NC; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Private family graveside services will be held on Saturday at Guilford Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.
Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel is assisting the Wood family.
