
MAYODAN Mrs. Gladys Lee Linville "Granny" Tilley, 83, went home to be with Jesus, Saturday evening, January 26, 2013, at Countryside Village in Stokesdale. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Gladys' Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Mayodan Church of God, Rev .Charles Greene and Rev. Raleigh Hayden will officiate. Interment will follow at Ellisboro Baptist Church Cemetery.
A Guilford County native, Gladys was born October 27, 1929, the daughter of Julius Saunders Linville and Nettie Lithicum Linville. She was a member of Mayodan Church of God and retired from Adams Millis in Kernersville with over 25 years of service.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by, her husband of 42 years, Aaron Wilson Tilley, two infant children; four great grandchildren; brother, John Linville and sisters, Helen Beavers and Martha Suits.
Gladys is survived by five children Johnny Manuel and wife Wanda of Mayodan, Penny Shifflett and husband Millard of Winston-Salem, Willie Southern and husband Richard of Stoneville, Mary Southern and husband Jimmie of Madison and Frances Link of Madison; two sisters, Ann Gleason and Jean Rushing of Lexington; 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
