
TRINITY Mrs. Mary Inez Walton Burge, 87, of Trinity, died Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Hospice of Randolph County.
Mary was born on April 14, 1925, in Guilford County, a daughter to the late Charlie Hugh Walton and Fannie Coward Walton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Aldean Burge on December 1, 1969, a son, Joseph "Joe" Linsey Burge, three brothers, Jim, Astor and Charles Walton; three sisters, Aleze Upton, Winnie Stilwell and Arlese Hedrick and three foster sisters, Elizabeth Crutchfield, Helen Evangelist and Mary Myers.
Mary was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and attended the Senior Saints Sunday School Class. On September 20, 1946 she married the love of her life, Joseph Aldean Burge. She was a graduate of Trinity High School. Following the death of Joseph (Aldean) she became a nurse to pursue her natural being of caring for others; Mary finished the nursing program and graduated from GTCC and retired as a nurse from High Point Regional. She enjoyed sewing and making quilts with her sisters, painting, and cooking, Mary always thought of others first and helped anyone that she was able to. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was a wonderful, dedicated and loving, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by two daughters, Gail Mann and her husband, Pete, of Trinity and Andrea Hyde and her husband, Don, of Trinity; a daughter in law, Carlene Burge of Trinity; five grandchildren, Dena Brown, Renee Hyde Allen, Jodi Burge-Pugh, Donna Moser and Dean Burge; 13 great grandchildren and a special friend Lee Byrd.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 8th at Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale.
