JAMESTOWN — Rebecca Floyd Newman, 77, went home to be with her Lord January 5, 2013 as she was surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday January 8, 2012 at Harvest Church. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park.
A native of Davidson County, she was the daughter of the late Ella Lee Blalock and Okey Durland Floyd. She graduated from Ragsdale High School where she was Homecoming Queen. She later attended Appalachian State University and went to work for Pilot Life Insurance for a number of years.
She was married to the late James Meredith Newman for 52 years.
Survivors include her daughter Kelly Newman and son Brian Newman both of High Point; grandchildren Brendan, Jack, and Shea Catherine; sister Bernice Brown of Atlanta; and her brother Joe Floyd and his wife Bonita of High Point.
The family will visit with friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday evening at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home located at 213 W. Mountain Street in Kernersville.
