GREENSBORO — Gary Thomas Osborne passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in the care of Hospice of Greensboro. A memorial service honoring his life will be held at Christ United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan 10, 2013. The family will visit with friends following the memorial service in the Fellowship Center.

A native of Guilford County, Mr. Osborne was born on November 23, 1946 to the late Thomas Clarkston Osborne Jr. & Mary Moser Osborne. He attended Southeast Guilford High School and later served his country for 8 ½ years with the US Air Force as a Para-rescue Jumpmaster. For his service during the Vietnam War SSgt Osborne was awarded The Distinguished Flying Cross, The Air Medal & the Silver Star.

He is survived by his daughter, Angela Osborne and son, Justin Osborne, both of Greensboro as well as by his siblings, Jim Osborne and wife Pat of Kernersville, David Osborne and wife Alice of Staley, Pat Wilson and husband Lenny of Raleigh and Gene Lemons and late husband Charles of Stokesdale alone with numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Osborne worked for years as the Fleet Manager at Greensboro Auto Auction; in his spare time he was also a Shriner and avid Harley Davidson owner and rider.
