BURLINGTON Mrs. Lou Vina "Pinkie" Brann Morris, 97, of 405 Oakland Drive, Burlington, died at 12:10 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital.
A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Max Morris and the daughter of Yarbro W. Brann and Bertha Gilliam Brann, both deceased. She was a retired secretary with the Burlington City School System with 23 years service and was a member of Front Street United Methodist Church. Mrs. Morris was a member of the Fannie Larkin Sunday School Class, the Church Council, the United Methodist Women, she received an Honorary Life Membership of the church's Administrative Board and was also involved with Cub Scouts.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Lou Nunn and husband Benjie of Greensboro; two sons, George Morris of Burlington and Steve Morris and wife Cynthia of Rockingham, NC; six grandchildren, Georgia (Jeff) Baldwin, Alan (Kaye) Morris, Glenn Morris, Maria (Preston) Garner, Stephanie (Melvin) Thomas and Sarah Nunn; six great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Melba Pegram of Greensboro.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Front Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Nathan Arledge officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship United Methodist Church in Browns Summit.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. prior to the service in the Heritage Room of the church and at other times will be at the residence.
