GREENSBORO — Mrs. Rixene Simmons Causby, 78, of Oak Ridge, NC died Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 12 p.m. at Trinity Church with Rev. Marc Putnam officiating. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.
Mrs. Causby was born on September 26, 1934 in Guilford County, NC to the late Irene Osborne. She retired in 1987 after 33 years as a manager with AT&T, and following retirement she worked another 11 years with PayChex, a payroll company. Rixene was a member of Trinity Church since 1963 where she was involved in various church activities including being a Sunday School teacher in the Nursery and Children's Classes and was an avid participant in the Love Feast at Christmas. She was an avid camper and a member of the HRRVC (Holiday Rambler Recreational Vehicle Club) since 1965.
She is survived by her husband, Herman L. Causby of the home; daughter Gerry Jessup (Todd) of Oak Ridge, NC; sister Libby Cook (Charlie) of Greensboro; brother Donald Simmons (Julia) of Cleveland, Ga.; granddaughter Tiffany Jessup of Oak Ridge, NC; six nieces and nephews; and her dear friend and caregiver Jessica Nusskern; along with her two favorite canine companions Oliver and Jessie.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 p.m. until 12 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
