GREENSBORO — Mr. Robert H. "Mouse" Mounce, 72, of Greensboro, died unexpectedly Saturday, December 8, 2012, at his home.

A 2 p.m. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greensboro.

"Mouse" was born in Guilford County, the third of six sons to the late Willie H. Mounce, Sr. and Frances D. Mounce. He worked as a mechanic for Shamrock Corporation for almost 34 years, retiring with a perfect attendance record. He was an accomplished left-handed bluegrass musician having taught himself to play Dobro, guitar, banjo, and bass. "Mouse" played in several bands over the years and graced many bluegrass stages. He could be found twice a year for more than 30 years in the same camping spot at Lil John's Mountain Music Festival in Snow Camp, NC sitting beside his campfire. He was known for his sense of humor, bare feet, and generous nature.

When "Mouse" wasn't playing music, he was outside in the sun working on his tan. He enjoyed visiting with friends, traveling to festivals, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Willie H. Mounce, Jr. and his beloved, loyal pet companion Toby.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Billie L. Mounce of the home; two daughters, Laura Isgett and husband, Ronnie of Florence, SC and Elizabeth Nall and husband, John of Greensboro, NC; one adopted son Keith Westbrook of Burlington, NC; four grandchildren, Alena Isgett, Kalyn Isgett, Elise Nall, and Kieran Nall; four brothers, James, Lewis, Clarence, and Gary; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will visit with friends at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street Chapel Wednesday, December 12, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
