GREENSBORO - Anne Kirby Barnhardt, 46, died of breast cancer peacefully at her home Monday November 12. She was born on September 18, 1966 in Morehead City, NC. She was a graduate of West Charlotte High School and Meredith College. Anne was the KA Rose of 1987 for NC State University. She and Jimmy Barnhardt were married in Charlotte, NC in 1991. They moved to Boulder Colorado where Anne and a friend opened their own furniture store. The family returned to North Carolina and settled in Greensboro where Anne was an interior designer with Barbour Spangle Design Group. She was an Allied Member of ASID and had award winning displays at several ASID Designer Houses. The Barnhardts are members of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Greensboro. Anne loved her family, her wonderful friends and neighbors, and her pets. She had a kind and loving heart and always thought about others before herself. She was a ray of sunshine.

Anne is survived by Jimmy Barnhardt, her husband of 21 years, son Jack and daughter Lizzie. Also by her parents, Rev. Dr. Charles L. and Charlotte M. Kirby, brother Tom Kirby and his wife Cynthia, sister Frances Vaughn and her husband Ashland, father-in-law David Barnhardt Sr., mother-in-law Catherine Browning and husband Bill, brothers-in-law David Barnhardt Jr. and Thom Barnhardt, and sister-in-law Cathy Barnhardt, and nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

A memorial service to celebrate Anne's life will be held on Friday November 16 at 2 p.m. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 611 N. Greene St, Greensboro, NC 27401; or the Red Dog Farm Animal Rescue Network, 5836 Bur-Mill Club Road, Greensboro, NC 27410.
