WEST CHESTER, PA — Bobbie Bennett, age 85, died on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Sunrise in West Chester, PA. She was born in High Point, NC to the late James E. and Helen Lyon. She lived most of her life in the Guilford College area prior to moving to West Chester in May 2011. Bobbie was married to Richard (Dick) E. Bennett who died in 1984.
Bobbie was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. She was a member of The Charity League and served as the treasurer for many years. She had also volunteered at Moses Cone Hospital. Some of the things Bobbie enjoyed...beach trips, bridge club, shopping and especially spending her mornings at McDonald's in Guilford College with her friends.
She is survived by son, Rick (Debra) of Cullowhee, NC; daughter, Susan (David) Lipinski of West Chester, PA; grandson, Matthew (Andi) Lipinski of West Chester, PA;, granddaughters, Jennifer Gray (Eddie) of Jamestown, NC, Katy Lipinski of Philadelphia, PA & Caroline Lipinski of West Chester, PA; great-granddaughter, Maddy Gray of Jamestown, NC; sister, Helen Tinsley of High Point, NC and dear friend, Nancy Johnson of Greensboro, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 108 Farriss Avenue, High Point, NC. Following the service, a reception will be held at the church.
