FOUNTAIN HILLS, AZ — Sena Goss Lawson, 90 who resided in Fountain Hills, Arizona, formerly of Pulaski, Virginia, departed this life on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 for her heavenly home and to be reunited with her loving husband, Roy. She was born in Galax, Virginia on November 19, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Greeley and Vina Goss of Galax. Ms. Lawson was a Galax resident until 1969 when she and her late husband, Royall Porter Lawson, moved to Pulaski. Ms Lawson worked for the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department as Magistrate until her retirement in 1989.
She is survived by two daughters, Vicki Estes of Greensboro, NC and her husband, Ed and Pat Mielke of Fountain Hills, AZ and her husband, John, four grandchildren, Matthew Mielke of Boston, MA and Stephanie Thornlow, Michelle Romano and Amanda Estes of Greensboro, NC, and three great grandchildren, Zachary, Nicholas, and Caden all of Greensboro.
Sena was a loving mother and devoted wife. Over the years, one of her greatest joys were her many dogs who provided her with much enjoyment and comfort.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 13 at 11 a.m. at Stevens Funeral Chapel in Pulaski with Reverend James Cates of Greensboro, NC officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin, VA. A celebration of her life will be held Monday, November 12 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
