JACKSON, MS Kathy Box Williard, 54, lost her nearly decade long battle with breast cancer on October 31, 2012.
Kathy, also known as "Boo" to her friends and family, was a graduate of Belhaven College and a member of Kappa Delta Epsilon, an honorary professional education fraternity.
After teaching second grade at Galloway Elementary, Kathy became an Instructional Technology Facilitator for Jackson Public Schools helping teachers learn how to incorporate computers into the classroom. Kathy was loved by all, especially her grandchildren, who learned her mastery of cookies and cupcakes.
She also excelled at embroidery and crafts creating an embroidery company with her two sisters. Although battling cancer herself, she still found time to volunteer for charitable work. Kathy's love of God and Christ were shown in her works and deeds. Her favorite verse was found in the book of Philippians chapter 4, "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." Kathy proved this daily during her battle with cancer.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Robert R. "Rusty" Williard; her son, R. Todd Broadus, Jr. and his wife, Sarah; granddaughters, Madyson and Aubrie Kate; her mother, Kate Yerger Box; and her sisters, Malinda Box Robinson and Lucinda Box Willis.
