VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — Lorese Washburn Nelson, 78, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Sentara Virginia Beach Hospital.
Lorese was born on March 7, 1934, in Rockingham County, NC, the daughter of Golden W. and Grace C. Hutchens Washburn. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She shared her love of crafts with her late husband James and they both traveled to craft shows displaying their works.
Lorese was preceded in death by her husband James E. Nelson, Jr. in 2011. Those left to cherish her memory are her children; James E. Nelson, III of Lawrenceville, VA, Daniel L. Nelson and wife Cynthia of Virginia Beach, VA and Timothy L. Nelson and wife Christine of Mocksville, NC. Four grandchildren also survive; Christopher Nelson, David Nelson, Rayna Nelson and Robert Nelson.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22, 2 p.m. at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
