PLEASANT GARDEN — Mr. Roderick Butler Ward, 84, died on Monday, September 3, 2012 at Heartland Living and Rehab.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 8 at Lakeview Memorial Park. There is no scheduled visitation.
Mr. Ward was born in Mountain City, Tennessee on September 10, 1927 to the late Charles and Blanche Farthing Ward. He was a veteran of the United States Army and had been employed as a construction worker. Rod was a laid backed, funny man who loved to talk. He was an avid wrestling fan, enjoyed watching westerns and pretty women. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Ward and son, Thomas Ward, Sr.
Mr. Ward is survived by a daughter, Teresa Masson (John); sister, Ruby Testerman; grandchildren, Thomas Ward, Jr. and family, Shannon Essa and family; and other extended family members.
