GREENSBORO - Robert "Mack" McDonald Long - "Mack" was 78 years old when he passed away, Monday, July 16, 2012 at his home.

He was an active member of Community in Christ Presbyterian where his memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012.

"Mack" was born in Concord, North Carolina on August 8, 1933. He was the son of the late Roy Long and Alma Allman Long.

He was a graduate of UNC, Chapel Hill and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He was employed by CGR Products and following his retirement he founded Custom Sales and continued working up until his death.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Johnnie May Fisher Long and his three children, Mary Margaret Antonelli of East Greenwich, RI; Maria Boyer of Richmond, VA, and Robert Long of Alexandria, VA. He is also survived by his sister Emmy Lou Pharr of Concord, NC; two nephews, four nieces, and his four grandchildren, Jack Boyer, Olivia Antonelli, Morgan Boyer and Matthew Antonelli.

The family will receive friends and relatives at Forbis and Dick Funeral Home in Pleasant Garden, on Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions may be made to Community in Christ Presbyterian, 5401 Liberty Road Greensboro, NC 27406 or the North Carolina Zoological Society, 4401 Zoo Parkway Asheboro, NC 27205.

The family appreciates all the love and support they have received and as "Mack" would say "Keep the Faith".
