GREENSBORO Evelyn McCanless Flores, 77, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Golden Living Center at Starmount.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012 at George Brothers Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. Interment will follow in Westminster Gardens.
Evelyn was born November 29, 1934 in Guilford County to the late Howard Troy and Pearl Davis McCanless. She was a retired telephone operator from Bell South with over 40 years of service as well as a devoted mother and caregiver to her four sons, especially her son Barry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael and Phillip Flores and a sister, Shirley Rollan.
Survivors include two sons, Robbie Flores and wife Kim of Greensboro and Barry Flores of the home; three brothers, Howard McCanless, Jr., Richard McCanless and Ronald McCanless; 1 sister, Linda Oliver; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.
