CHARLOTTE — God called his faithful servant, the Reverend Richard L. Corpening home to eternal rest on July 5, 2012.
Reverend Corpening was born in Lenoir, NC and attended North Carolina University. He was the Pastor of St. Stephen AME Church, Liberty, NC.
He is survived by his wife, Lori F. Corpening; daughter, Darshea Corpening; son, Terrell Partlow; four grandchildren; his mother, Joyce Corpening of Lenoir, NC; brothers, Kim Ivan Corpening of Lenoir, NC and Gary (Jane) Corpening of Tennessee; sister, the Reverend Gwendolyn Corpening of Norfolk, VA.
There will be a visitation on Sunday, July 8, 2012 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at St. Stephen AME Church, Liberty, NC 27298. Homegoing Celebration will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Greater Bethel AME Church 5232 The Plaza Charlotte, NC 28215 with a 30 minute visitation prior to service.
The body will lie in state on Monday, July 9, 2012 from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Long & Son Mortuary 2312 Beatties Ford Rd Charlotte NC 28216.
