SALISBURY — Mrs. Juanita Hefner Lanier, 84, of Salisbury, NC passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012 at her residence.

Born August 9, 1927 in Mecklenburg Co, NC to the late Stella Stewart Hefner and Roy Hefner, she attended Mecklenburg Co Schools and was a graduate of Lexington High School. Mrs. Lanier was a homemaker and worked in the family business, Bruce Lanier Motors, Inc., from 1966-1979. She was a member of Coburn Memorial United Methodist Church for 56 years and was very active in all aspects of the church. Mrs. Lanier was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was active in the Cub Scouts as a Den Mother and in the Salisbury School System PTA. Juanita enjoyed gardening and housekeeping.

Preceding her in death was her son, Ronald Bruce Lanier who passed away on September 18, 1999.

Surviving is her husband whom she married in 1947, Bruce Calvin Lanier; son, Tony Wade Lanier and daughter, Mitzi Marie Lanier both of Salisbury, NC.

A visitation will be held 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 4 at Summersett Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday July 5 at Coburn Memorial United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Anna Mendelstamm & Dr. S.B. "Doc" Warner. Entombment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum in Lexington, NC.
