BURLINGTON — Esther M. Ward, age 94, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Twin Lakes Lutheran Retirement Center in Burlington. A graveside service for Mrs. Ward will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Lakeview Memorial Park, Highway 29 North, Greensboro, NC.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Robert Ward. Esther was employed for many years with Western Electric (Lucent Technology).
Those left to cherish her memory are son, Robert A. Ward and wife, Margaret of Burlington, daughter Diane W. McIntyre and husband Jim of Burke, Va.; grandchildren, Robert (Bert) Ward, Jr. and wife, Mary Staton of Burlington, David Ward and wife, Kimberly of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Laurie Neeley and husband Leonard of Burke, Va. and Christie Nichols of Greensboro.; and five great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their thanks to the wonderful staff of Twin Lakes, who provided excellent care to Esther.

A visitation for Mrs. Ward will be held from 10 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Forbis and Dick North Elm Chapel.
