GREENSBORO — Ruth Hiester Gaebe went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 10, as a result of an automobile accident. Ruth was only three days from celebrating her ninety-fourth birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Roy Gaebe; a son, Richard A. Gaebe; and her two brothers, Oliver and Al Hiester. Ruth was born in El Paso, TX, on June 13, 1918 to Beulah R. and Albertus Shelley Hiester. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Dan Gill of Remlik, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Janice Gaebe of New Bloomfield, MO; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Mike Geremina of Raleigh, NC; daughter and son-in-law Diana and Jeff Daniel of Gainesville GA; daughter and son-in-law Laura and Rob Kennerly of Madison NC; and son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Cindy Gaebe of Lynchburg VA. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Ruth will forever be remembered as a loving Mother with a sweet smile and gentle spirit.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home located at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. A graveside service celebrating Ruth's life will follow at 2 p.m.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Moses Cone Hospital ER department, the Surgical Intensive Care Department, and the loving staff in the Palliative Care Department.
