GREENSBORO —

Petty Officer 2nd Class Sean Edward Brazas, USN, a native of Greensboro, NC, died May 30, 2012 while conducting combat operations in Panjwa'l, Afghanistan. He was assigned to Naval Base Kitsap Security Detachment in Bremerton, Washington.

Born May 1, 1986, he is survived by his wife, Allie Marie Brazas, and daughter, Addisen Jade Hasenwinkel, both of Bremerton, WA; his parents, Edward S. & Patricia Z. Brazas, Jr., of Greensboro; his sister, Kelly Brazas Nance, and her husband, Capt. Charles Nance, USAF, of Omaha, NE; his grandparents, Hubert & Elinor Zuehlsdorff, of Bay City, MI; the Stephen D. & Elizabeth K. Brazas family of Asheville, NC; the John D. & Barbara A. Sawyer, Sr. family of Stafford, VA; the John D. & Jennifer Sawyer, Jr. family of Farmville, VA; the Carlos & Amanda Osorio Family of Stafford, VA; Daryl & Teresa Hasenwinkel of Mesa, AZ and Luke & Christie Hasenwinkel of Gilbert, AZ.

A Memorial Mass and celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 2715 Horse Pen Creek Road, Greensboro, NC 27410.

Burial with full military honors will be at Arlington National Cemetery on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his name be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
