KIMESVILLE - William Perry Clapp, age 90, of Kimesville passed away December 6, 2012 at Moses Cone. Mr. Clapp was employed at Western Auto for 45 years. After retirement he farmed for many years.

Perry played fast pitch softball for Western Auto. He coached little league for S E Civitain's and other teams in the area. He also coached girls softball for over a decade. Softball was his passion.

Perry was a faithful member of Mount Pleasant Methodist Church his whole life. In later years he was custodian and grounds keeper for the fellowship hall and recreation areas.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, four brothers, and beloved wife of 65 years, Celia. He is survived by son, Ron of Whitsett; daughter, Ellen, of the home; a sister, Betty; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Mount Pleasant Methodist Church in Kimesville on December 27 at 11 a.m. with family time immediately afterward in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Mount Pleasant Methodist Church, 4400 Alamance Church Rd, Liberty, NC 27298.
