GREENSBORO — Mr. William "Lee" Overton, 69, born Dec. 22, 1942 went to his peaceful place on Thursday, October 31, 2012.

A celebration of Mr. Overton's life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.

Mr. Overton was of the Presbyterian faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany during the Vietnam War. Mr. Overton was a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and was never seen without a Tarheel shirt on. He was an avid UNC basketball fan-Go Heels! He enjoyed working with his son's high school Northwest Marching Band and acted as booster president. Mr. Overton spent his entire career working in textiles and retired from Dan River. He loved life with his friends and family. He was very faithful in staying in touch and loved to text frequently.

Mr. Overton is survived by his wife of 42 years, Helen Overton, son, Evan L. Overton and his constant home companions; Lola, Allie and Webster.

As his wife, thank you for loving him as we do.
