CASWELL COUNTY — William Gregory "Greg" Cobb, 57, of Caswell County, died Friday July 27, 2012 following a traffic accident. He was born on June 22, 1955 to Elsie Mae Chavis Cobb and the late William Cobb.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 6 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, located at 5120 Burlington Road, Greensboro, NC 27405.

He is survived by a loving wife, Rose M. Cobb; a step-daughter, Erin (Trey) Early of Gibsonville; two step-sons, Scott Whitesell of Charlotte and Mark Whitesell of Gibsonville; two sons, Sheldon (Paula) Coble of Kernersville and Adam (Shelagh) Coble of Gibsonville; mother, Elsie Mae Cobb of Gibsonville; two sisters, Karen (Joe) LeCompte of Greensboro and Alisa Cobb of Cary; two brothers, Jeff Cobb of Greensboro and Gary Cobb of Gibsonville; three grandchildren, Russell Early of Gibsonville, and Jaden and Rain Coble of Kernersville; two nephews, Mathieu and Michael LeCompte of Greensboro and a host of other relatives and friends.

Greg was employed by Massey Readi-Mix Concrete, Inc. of Burlington. He was known by many for his love of horses and his work as a Farrier. Greg was a mentor to a lot of broken Cowboys. A Memorial Trail Ride is being organized by one of his closest friends, Josh "Dudy" Summers and information will be shared when completed.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the "Greg Cobb Memorial Fund" at Select Bank & Trust, 220 Burlington Street, Gibsonville, NC 27249.
