REIDSVILLE — William Daniel "Danny" Rudd, III, 68, of 1905 Glenn Dr. died Thursday January 10, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday January 13, 2013 in Citty Funeral home Chapel with Dr. Doug McLeroy officiating. Burial will be in Reidlawn Cemetery.
A native of Alamance Co., he was the son of the late William Daniel and Sarah Gill Rudd and had lived in Reidsville most of his life. He was retired from Electric Supply Co. and a former member of the Army reserve with a rank of Drill Sergeant. A member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Reidsville Elks Lodge, he was a member of Main St. United Methodist Church. A member of Pennrose Park Country Club, and an avid golfer. He enjoyed the competition and comradery of his golfing buddies on the "Senior Tour" and he will be missed by his best golfing buddy, brother-in-law.
Surviving: his wife of 46 years Anne Lindsey Rudd of the home; sister: Sarah Jane R. Prook and husband Danny of Reidsville, NC; nieces and nephews: Ted Jones and wife Christy of Wynne, Ark, Justin Jones and wife Brink of Davidson, NC, Sarah Elizabeth Smith and husband Jeff of Huntersville, NC, Laura Lindsey Cassell and husband Steve of Reidsville, NC, Stephanie Lindsey Austria and husband Eric of Greensboro, NC, Caroline Lindsey of Cary, NC and Adam Lindsey of Tampa, FL. 7 Special Great Nieces and Nephews.
The family will see friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at Citty Funeral Home and at other times, they will be at the residence.
