
GREENSBORO Virginia Moore Simpson passed away peacefully at Beacon Place on Nov 30, 2012.
Virginia was born in Wickliffe, Kentucky on July 15, 1920 to the late Robert Benjamin and Bessie Rollins Moore.
Virginia was a graduate of Bowling Green Business College, now Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Ky. She was retired from the Business Office of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Virginia was a long time member of the First Baptist Church.
She was married to Hal L. Simpson for 64 years. She is survived by one son, Brent Simpson and wife, Edith of Gastonia, NC. She had four grandchildren, Julie Odell and husband Dr Kevin, of Gastonia, NC, Lara S. Zeigler and husband Rob of Gastonia, NC, Jonathan B. Simpson and wife Jill of Rock Hill, SC., and Kelly S. Summey and husband Derek of Stanley, NC. In addition, she had 13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hal Simpson and daughter Virginia Hope Simpson.
A memorial service for friends and family will be in the Chapel of the First Baptist Church, Greensboro, NC on December 15, 2012 at 12 p.m. with inurnment in the church columbarium immediately following the service.
