HIGH POINT On Thanksgiving morning, November 22, 2012, the Lord called the name of our brother Reverend Timothy "Tim" Howard Pless. He was born on February 9, 1961 in Waynesville NC, to his surviving parents, Howard and Joan Pless of Canton, NC.
Tim leaves behind his wife, Donna Pless; five sons, Brandon Aker (Nora Cammer), Andrew Pless, Joshua Pless, Jonathan Aker and Sean Michael Pless; his first grandchild, Brody Pless; one sister, Risa; and one brother David.
Tim also leaves behind a special group of friends that were there for him from the day of diagnosis and through all treatments, trials, triumphs and tribulations. These people were our rocks through the storm. Thank you, Alan Oakley, a true brother, Cindy Oakley, Reverend Terry Smith, Amy Wheeler, Johne Albanese and Steve and Beth Resciniti. We thank hundreds of others who supported us over the five years during his battle to beat this disease. Thank you for being family.
Tim was an avid sports player, from little league to securing a full scholarship to play college football at Catawba College. After graduation, Tim coached until he felt the calling into the ministry. An ordained minister, he served as pastor for several churches over the years. Afterwards, he became an Executive Account Representative for Systel Office Automation. He then changed career paths and is best known for his entrepreneurial endeavors, founding and working to make All-A-Flutter Butterfly Farm one of the most popular agri-tourism experiences in the Triad and surrounding communities.
A celebration of Tim's life will be held on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 7 p.m. at Crosspoint Church of Greensboro, 1806 Merritt Dr., Greensboro. A visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery on High Point Rd. in Greensboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Tim to Hospice Home of High Point: 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point, NC 27262 or Safe Haven Equine Rescue Center.
