GREENSBORO — Mr. Thomas "Tom" Jay Patillo, 72, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 5 at Alamance Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Tom was born in Guilford County on August 31, 1940 to the late Walter and Margaret Patillo. He taught ballroom dancing for more that fifty years, teaching at Arthur Murray and International School of Dance before he established Patillo School of Dance. He also taught dance at GTCC for eighteen years. Tom enjoyed all types of music, particularly dance, gospel, rock and roll. He was very talented, enjoyed playing the guitar, gardening and landscaping. His yard blossomed with more than 400 beautiful azaleas. He was a lifetime member of Alamance Presbyterian Church and had served as a deacon.

Mr. Patillo is survived by his wife of almost 51 years, Sharon Blackburn Patillo; brother, Robert Patillo (Vickie); two nieces; four great nieces and one great nephew.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Monday.
