GREENSBORO — Sabina Mae Anglin Alexander of Baltimore, Maryland, formerly of 1200 Moody Street, Greensboro, NC died on May 13, 2010.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. James Presbyterian Church, 820 Ross Avenue, Greensboro, NC. with the Reverend Dr. Diane Givens Moffett officiating.

She was born on August 18, 1926 in Martinsville, VA to Jesse B. and Mary E. Anglin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin T. Alexander, and her second husband, Walter Lewis.

She was a graduate of Henry County Training School and N.C. A&T State University. She retired as a Librarian at the F. D. Bluford Library on the campus of A&T State University.

She was a member of the Alpha Phi chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity both in Greensboro, NC.

She was a member of St. James Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, Deacon, and member of the Roxie McNair Circle.

Surviving are a son, Melvin T. Alexander, Jr. (Lucia). a daughter, Denise Alexander Smith; sisters, LaVerne A. Turner and Cardinia A. DeShazo (Curtis), all of Baltimore, Md.; Synthronia A. Shelton of Charlotte, NC; a brother, Jesse B. Anglin, Jr. (Shirley) of Durham, NC, sister-in-law, Gloria Alexander-Statham; godson, Moses McClam (Charlene) ; five grandchildren, five great-grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews, and numerous adopted family members and friends.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at 9:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the , Greater Maryland Chapter, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, Maryland 21093.
