Rosa Moore Redding Williamson, 91, died Wednesday, February 13, at Beacon Place after a long struggle with multiple myeloma. At her request a private family service will be held conducted by the Rev. Julie Peeples, and an open celebration of her life will be held at a later time when her ashes are spread at her designated location.
Rosa was born in Greensboro, NC, and resided here the majority of her life. She was genuinely interested in people, volunteering for many causes. Her laughter, wit, many kindnesses, and her incredible cooking will forever remain in the memories of her many friends. Her attitude toward life was encapsulated in her favorite saying: "When you think about yesterday, or worry about tomorrow, you lose today".
She was predeceased by husbands Lester Edward Redding and Frank Whitlock Williamson, Sr. She was also predeceased by two dearly loved grandsons; Edward (Ted) Redding McNairy and Charles Redding Harris.
She is survived by her daughter Rita Redding Filatovs and husband Dr. Juri Filatovs, of Greensboro, and also numerous nieces and nephews.
