GREENSBORO - Mr. Ronald (Ronnie) McRae Allen, 43, died November 3, 2012. A celebration of his life will be held at Greensboro's First Presbyterian Church at a date and time yet to be arranged. Contact the family for more information.
Ronnie was a native of Greensboro and the son of Anne R. Johns and Ronald M. Allen. He graduated in 1984 from NW Guilford and attended the University of Colorado. Following his education he joined the US Army in Special Forces. He became an entrepreneur in military projects and patented several of his undertakings.
Among his survivors are his mother Anne Robertson Johns and her husband Frank; father, Ronald W. Allen and his fiancé Catherine Hoffman; half-sisters, Catherine Johns and Julie Allen; half-brothers, Abraham Johns, III, Winfield Johns, and Jason Allen; paternal grandmother Mrs. Mary Bryant; maternal aunt Susan and her husband David Robertson, maternal uncles Fred Allen and David Allen; and paternal uncle David Robertson and his wife Susan.
