CLIMAX — Mr. Richard Garland Fields, 87, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2012 at Beacon Place.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 12 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Fields was born on April 5, 1925 in Guilford County. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during World War II. Richard was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and was a farmer all of his life. He was an avid Carolina basketball fan and a very kind man.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Iza Magdalene Fields in 2009, and parents, Charlie and Maude Coble Fields.

Survivors include sons, Larry Fields (Pat), Mike Fields (Beverly), Steve Fields (Cindy) and Jeffrey Fields; grandchildren, Heather Coble, Jason Fields; great-grandchildren, Desi, Jackson, Graham, Jalee and Tucker.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday at Forbis & Dick, Pleasant Garden Chapel.
