GREENSBORO — Rex Harden Ingold, 91, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012 at his residence.

A 3:30 p.m. funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 17 at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street Chapel. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Rex was born January 27, 1921 in Wilkes County, NC to the late John and Cora Ingold. He served his country during WWII as a military policeman in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Afterwards, he began his career with Wysong & Miles as a drill press operator and retired in 1980 after 32 years of service.

A man talented in many areas, Rex was a good cook, gardener, wood worker and an excellent mechanic. He also enjoyed spending time fishing. As a long-time member of Gospel Baptist Church, Rex loved his church family very much. His generosity and willingness to always help others was recognized by all who knew him.

Rex was preceded in death by sisters Irene Young, Huzie Shular and Fannie Nelson as well as brothers Stewart and Bill Ingold.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Ingold. Other survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 16th from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street.

A special thanks is expressed to his caring brother-in-law, John Calhoun, for all of his kindness in taking care of Rex during his illness.
