MARTINSVILLE, VA — Mrs. Rebecca Stevens Greeson, 86, died Friday, January 25, 2013 at Martinsville Memorial Hospital. Formerly of Pleasant Garden, NC, resided with her daughter Robyn Grogan of Fieldale who was her caregiver for the past five years. She was born in Randolph County, NC, on December 15, 1926 to the late Raleigh Franklin Stevens, and Florence Jackson Stevens. She was retired after fifteen years as an inspector for Miller Brewing Company of Eden, NC.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Viola Stevens Berry Dawson and six brothers, Vance, Dwight, Richard, Norman, Walter and Garland Stevens.
Surviving are two daughters, Robyn G. Grogan and Fiancé Joseph Gerald Hassan of the home, and Linda Karen Greeson of Pensacola Florida, three sons, James Louis Greeson of Julian, NC, John Dale Greeson, Patrick Springs, VA and David H. Greeson of Highpoint, NC, four grandchildren, Kailey Greeson, James Randall Greeson, Zack Grogan and Zane Grogan and several nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in Greensboro, NC with Director Kelly G. Ratcliff, officiating. The family will receive friends 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 in the chapel of Collins Funeral Home in Bassett, VA.
