REIDSVILLE — Raymond Nathaniel Gunn, 79, died on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the Rockingham County Hospice Home.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 at Reidlawn Cemetery with military graveside rites.

Raymond was born in Rockingham County to the late Arnie and Margaret Walker Gunn. He was an electrician with Adams Electric for 50 years and was called a "legend" by those currently working. He was a big Jeff Gordon Fan, loved to fish, loved trains and going to auctions. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his great grandson, Brian May and brother-in-law, Jerry Garner.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Gunn; daughter, Christy Corum and husband, Mike; son, Lea Gunn and fiancé, Janet; sister, Ann Dail; grandchildren, Michelle Williams and Emily Gunn; great grandchildren, Blair Zavitz, Faith Cramer, Joseph Cramer; niece, Tina Nabors; nephew, Richard Garner.

The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Sunday, February 3 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and other times at the home.

The family would like to thank the staff at Wesley Long Cancer Center, Rockingham County Hospice Home and Dr. Roy Fagan.
