REIDSVILLE — Porter Graves Rakestraw, 84, of Penn Nursing Center, died on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Annie Penn Hospital.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2013 at Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sandy Brown officiating.
Mr. Rakestraw was born in Rockingham County to the late Fitzuh Dewey and Phoebe Mitchell Rakestraw. He was a retired farmer and a member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Deldie Rakestraw; brothers, Elmer and Fletcher Rakestraw.
He is survived by his brother, Bill Rakestraw and wife, Judy; sisters, Louise Roberts and husband, R.A. and Nancy Smith; caregiver, Donna Paschal and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Louise and R. A. Roberts, 306 Linden Road, Reidsville.
