
GREENSBORO Peggy Jean Arnold passed away on February 12, 2013 at age 83. A service of remembrance will be Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of First Baptist Church.
Peggy was born to George and Bertha Reavis Arnold in Winston-Salem, NC on April 29, 1930. She had lived in Greensboro since age 10, and graduated from Greensboro (Grimsley) High School and King's Business College. She was employed by Western Auto Supply Company and later by Lucent Technologies, from which she retired. She was an active member of First Baptist Church for more than 60 years, a former children's worker and Mobile Meals volunteer; and a long-time member of the Shining Light Sunday School Class. In earlier years, she also enjoyed affiliations and volunteer activities with the YWCA, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Toastmistress Int'l, and Christian Business Women. She was especially grateful for her many good friends, neighbors, and former co-workers and classmates who kept in touch through the years.
In addition to her parents, Peggy is predeceased by brothers J. H. "Bill" and his wife Sylvia Hardin Arnold, and George and his wife Diane Buckner Arnold; brothers-in-law James L. Longworth Sr., W. Boyd Gray, Warren Richardson, and Jim Creedmore; also, nephew J. H. Arnold Jr.
She is survived by sisters Charlotte Longworth of Charlotte NC and Mary Doris Gray Richardson Creedmore of Statesville NC; nephews Jim Longworth Jr. (Pam Cook) of Kernersville NC, Robert Arnold (Mona) of Augusta GA; and nieces Linda L. (Chuck) Couch of Charlotte NC, Angela Arnold of Ft. Lauderdale FL, Kathy Gray (Alex) Nyerges of Richmond VA, Dawn Gray Kouba and Marsha Gray Skjaerris of Greensboro NC, as well as several great nieces and nephews.
