
MADISON Paul Edward Thompson, 62, of 1023 Hunt Joyce Road, died Saturday, February 16, 2013, at home.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Woodland Cemetery with military honors by Rockingham County Honor Guard and N.C. National Guard.
Born October 12, 1950, in Cross County, Arkansas, Paul was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam and was awarded the bronze star medal for meritorious achievement. He was retired from Halstead/Kobe Copper with 35 years of service and was was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee and Ruth Bonham Thompson.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Holcomb Thompson; daughter and son-in-law, Keri and James Martin, all of Madison; brother, Billy Joe Thompson, of North Pole, Alaska; and three grandchildren, Alexis Jade Taylor, Mariah Kalei Martin, and Tamariea Martin Anderson.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, at Colonial Funeral Home and all other times at the residence.
