REIDSVILLE — Octavia Leake Baynes, 87, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Rockingham County Hospice Home surrounded by her nieces, Cindy Putnam and Ginny Jarrett,
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, October 29, 2012 at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Rev. Tripp Kimbrough officiating.
Octavia was born in Stokes County to the late G.R. and Alma Smith Leake. She was a retiree of The American Tobacco Company and a member of Faith Christian Church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Baynes; sisters, Flora Gammons, Jessie Cox and Edith Gentry.
Survivors include her sisters, Mary McMillian and husband, Richard of Sanford and Shirley Griffin and husband, Herbert of Reidsville; numerous nieces and nephews.
