GREENSBORO — Newton Wilson Pearman, 87, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Hanes Lineberry N. Elm Chapel with Rev. Gerald Collins officiating. The family will greet friends one half hour prior to the service

Newton was born March 22, 1925 to Calvin and Bettie Lee Pearman. He was a veteran of WWII. He retired from Lorillard in 1987. He enjoyed gardening and was proud of his homegrown tomatoes and shared them with many people.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Aubrey, Paul, Carl (infant), Andrew (Cleo) Calvin Pearman; sisters Odie Pearman, Cordie Jennings, Lulu Lovette and Lavinia (infant). Newton is survived by his wife of forty years, Eunice Barham Pearman; sisters, Clara Collins and Jean Pearman; many special nieces and nephews.
