BROWNS SUMMIT — Nadine Marie Albert, 60, of Browns Summit, NC, passed away on January 31, 2013 of pancreatic cancer.

Ms. Albert was born in Long Branch, NJ on December 9, 1952, and grew up in Fair Haven, NJ. She graduated from Rumson-Fair Haven RHS in Rumson, NJ, and received a bachelor's degree from North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, NC, where she was also a member of Tau Phi Theta Sorority, Inc.

She worked as a Senior Accounting & Payroll Technician at Guilford Technical Community College in Jamestown, NC for 5 years. Ms. Albert was previously employed for 25 years with Southland Corporation in Burlington, NJ, where she received numerous accolades and awards. Ms. Albert was a devout member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Red Bank, NJ. She was Senior Warden, President of Episcopal Church Women, Vestry member, Sunday school teacher, and a member of the Sunday school PTA. She served on the New Jersey State Board of Episcopal Church Women as well. She was also an avid crocheter.

Ms. Albert is survived by a sister, Winifred Albert-Johnson, sister-in-law Pong Heyliger, nieces Sharifa Johnson, Christine Heyliger, and Lydia Heyliger, all of Greensboro, NC, nephews Edward Heyliger, Jr. of Brooklyn, NY, and Brian Cook of Toms River, NJ, and special gentleman friend Ronald Winston of Browns Summit, NC. She is predeceased by her parents Nathan and Anna Albert, and brother Edward Heyliger, Sr.

A viewing will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Hargett Funeral Home in Greensboro, NC. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. A memorial service will take place at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Red Bank, NJ in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to The Lustgarten Foundation, Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, Cone Health Cancer Center, and/or St. Thomas Episcopal Church. The family of Nadine Albert would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Cone Health Cancer Center and Beacon Place, and to all of her friends and loved ones for their support.
