GREENSBORO — Mildred Watkins Jordan, age 90, went home to be with her Father in Heaven on January 22, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Guilford College United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at New Garden Friends Cemetery.
Mildred (also lovingly known as Mamie), was born December 4, 1922 in Dekalb, Mississippi. She was an active member of Guilford College United Methodist Church since 1964.
Mildred loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a strong woman with a strong faith in God. In addition to God, her family, and friends, Mildred had a passion and special place in her heart for the 36 year old family business, Carpet Super Mart.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Arthur C. Jordan; daughter Joyce Jordan Mobley and husband Ronnie, son Arthur C. Jordan, Jr. and wife Lynn; grandchildren Stephanie Mobley Briggs and husband Jason, Angie Mobley Fletcher and husband Matt and Clint, Clay, and Marissa Jordan; great grandchildren, Kaylee and Tyler Briggs, Bryson and Ansley Fletcher.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., immediately before the service.
