OAK RIDGE — Mr. Michael Stuart Rabe, 23, passed away on Wednesday evening, December 5, 2012.
Michael's funeral will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church with Dr. Michael Kurtz and Rev. Karen Kurtz officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Michael was born on December 30, 1988 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Randal Jay and Jeanne Bernicke Rabe. He was a graduate of Tecumseh High School in Tecumseh, Michigan, and was currently a senior at UNC-Greensboro pursuing a business degree. Michael was an avid sports fan who was a competitive and skilled pitcher. He was athletic, sensitive, and compassionate, and will be remembered for his sense of humor.
Surviving are his parents, Randy and Jeanne Rabe of Oak Ridge; sisters Melissa Nelson and her husband, Erik, of Greensboro and Elizabeth Rabe of Oak Ridge; grandparents Marvin and Janice Rabe and Robert and Mary Anne Bernicke, great grandmother Hilda Drewes all of Napoleon, Ohio; ten aunts and uncles and fourteen cousins.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church on Sunday.
