GREENSBORO — Melba D. Gaddy, 93, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 at her residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Father Chris Davis officiating. Entombment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.

Melba was born on February 14, 1919 in Garnett, Kansas. She studied at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. On July 8, 1967, she married James Gaddy and they moved to Greensboro in 1971. Melba held her North Carolina Real Estate Broker's License and was the co-owner of M & J Development in Greensboro, She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be deeply missed.

Melba was predeceased by her son, John Hotzhuter. Surviving are her loving husband James; daughter, Patti Gatewood of Stokesdale, NC; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Hotzhuter of Overbrook, KS; step children, James Gaddy Jr. and Ann Brock; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.

Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel is assisting the Gaddy family.
