APEX — Mareka Ducharme Baker, 36, passed away on Monday evening, September 12, 2011. Born on April 1, 1975 in Korea; she was the daughter of Kathleen Hallenbeck Ducharme and the late James Ducharme.
Mareka graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Computer Science. She was a consultant for Open Text, a software company. She was a generous, kind and quiet person who was focused on her husband and career.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Baker, of Apex; her mother, Kathleen Ducharme, of Greensboro; her brothers and families, Matthew and Mia Ducharme and their children, Nicolas, Kathryn and Amanda, of Reidsville and Mark and Tonya Ducharme and their children James and Michael, of Winston-Salem; by her uncle and family, Roz and Vicky Hallenbeck, of Winston-Salem; and by many other family and friends.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday evening, September 15, 2011 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Apex Funeral Home.
