GREENSBORO - With a heavy heart we announce that on the 2nd of December, 2012, Lorraine Quinn
Connolly concluded her courageous struggle and departed this world.
A 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 7, 2012 at St. Benedict's Catholic Church. Interment will follow immediately after words at Green Hill Cemetery.
Born on the 26th of December, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA to Lois and Joseph Quinn, She married James Connolly in 1953 and eventually settled in Greensboro in 1963. She raised and loved 6 fine children; and loved all her sisters, four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces/nephews.
Preceding her in death are her sister Betsy Hermesmann (Bill) of Marlton, NJ, nephew Peter Hermesmann of Philadelphia, PA, son James, Jr. of Ft Myers, FL, and the rock of the family, her husband James.
She is survived by her children Mark, John, and Claire of Greensboro, Matthew (Janet) of Rocky Mount, NC, Luke (Linda) of Rock Hill, SC; grandchildren Quinn (Allison) of Hailey, ID and their kids Willa and Sloane, Megan of Sand Point, ID, Clay of Rocky Mount, NC, and Joseph of Camp Lejeune , NC. She has many wonderful sisters: Joyce of San Antonio, TX, MK(Lou) of Phoenix, AZ, Gretchen(Harry) of Mt Pleasant, SC, and Regan (Jim) of Cheverly, MD.
